The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider course trains professionals with clinical responsibilities to provide lifesaving interventions to victims of cardiac and respiratory arrest. This course covers CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask) and use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for adults, children, and infants. This certification is required for most healthcare providers that work in patient care areas and for students enrolled in medical and nursing programs.

Intended Audience:

The Basic Life Support (CPR/AED) Provider Course is designed to train healthcare professionals to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for healthcare professionals and healthcare students with clinical responsibilities such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and any other person who requires a Healthcare Provider CPR course.

**The American Heart Association requires you to have a current copy of the student manual for this course. The student manual is sold separately and will be distributed upon arrival on your training date. Manuals can only be purchased in addition to a class date. If this is a renewal, you already own a copy or have access to a copy, you do not need to purchase another copy of the manual**
